Multiple awards for young researchers from WIChiP on 24th PCCPE

The Department of Chemical Technology and Engineering at the West Pomeranian University of Technology hosted scientists from Poland and the world at the 24th Polish Conference on Chemical and Process Engineering. On June 13-16, 2023, you could hear papers and view posters presenting the latest results and indicating trends in the scientific and industrial development of chemical engineering. A special committee also awarded prizes to the youngest scientists, 4 out of 5 of which went to our representatives!

The committee of the 24th PCCPE awarded 3 prizes to young scientists for oral presentations. In this category, the first prize was won by Zuzanna Bojarska, PhD, for her paper entitled. "Production, characterization and applications of hybrid nanostructures based on molybdenum disulfide and carbon nanomaterials". The second prize went to Monika Jałowiecka, M.Sc., for her presentation of the paper titled. "Mass transfer intensification by developing new flow field designs in a direct formic acid fuel cell".

Another category of awards included prizes for poster presentation. Two awards were given, with the work of doctoral students being recognized separately from undergraduates. The award in the first group went to Aleksandra Pisarek, M.Sc. for her poster entitled. "Effect of synthesis parameters and structure morphology on ambient pressure dried MTMS-based gel porosity". The student award went to Przemysław Rakowski, M.Sc., for his poster "Intercalating compounds in production of flake graphene via direct exoliation in supercritical carbon dioxide."

The awards were given at the conference closing ceremony, which was opened by the Chairman of the Committee on Chemical and Process Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Prof. Eugeniusz Molga, D.Sc. The awards were presented by the President of the PCCPE Organizing Committee, Prof. Rafal Rakoczy, D.Sc.

We congratulate all the awarded employees, doctoral students and WIChiP students for dominating the competition and we look forward to further scientific and conference successes!
