Seminar series: "The Present and the Future of Chemical Engineering from the Academic and Industrial Perspectives"
We would like to cordially invite all students and employees of the Faculty of Chemical and Process Engineering of the Warsaw University of Technology to a series of seminars under the common title "The Present and the Future of Chemical Engineering from the Academic and Industrial Perspectives." During the seminars, which will be held in March 2023, representatives of scientists and entrepreneurs will present their perspectives on the future of chemical engineering and the challenges it faces. The moderator of all meetings will be Professor Andrzej Stankiewicz.
Seminar Program (click in the seminar name to see the photo Gallery):
- March 1, 2023 - "The Greening of the Big Bad Wolf: New Paths and New Challenges of Chemical Engineering," Andrzej Stankiewicz (Warsaw University of Technology).
- March 8, 2023 - "Chemical Engineering in the Current Business Scenario: How to Prepare for the Needs of a Fast-Changing Chemical Industry," Roberto Werneck Do Carmo (Braskem)
- March 15, 2023 - "(Y)our future in process technology - perspective from a specialty chemical company," Manfred Nagel (Evonik)
- March 22, 2023

The seminars will be held from 15:15 to 16:00 in the A2 auditorium at the Faculty of Chemical and Process Engineering, Warsaw University of Technology. All seminars AND subsequent discussion will be conducted in English.
Here are the few words from the host and first speaker, professor Andrzej Stankiewicz:
"This webinar series tries to identify the current and the future role and opportunities for chemical engineering and chemical engineers in the fast-changing world of the 21st century, that faces grand societal challenges related to environment, human health or availability of food and clean water.
In the opening seminar “The Greening of the Big Bad Wolf” Professor Andrzej Stankiewicz (TU Delft and WUT) will focus on some global trends presently observed in the chemical sector, that include, among other things, decarbonization, electrification, digitalization, modularization or manufacturing of new, advanced materials, and will discuss the role of modern chemical engineering in each of those trends.
In the subsequent webinars, executive managers from different types of international chemical industries will share their views on the present and future roles of chemical engineers within their companies."
Registration for subsequent seminars will be announced in our social media. The number of places is limited, the order of registration is decisive.
We encourage you to follow our Facebook profile, where the event is available, to learn more about the seminars themselves. Information about each seminar can also be found on our website, in the calendar of events.
