The Dean of the Faculty of Chemical and Process Engineering opened the ceremony, prof. Marek Henczka welcomed all event participants. The Dean described the profile of the Faculty's scientific activities. He also listed the most significant achievements of employees and doctoral students from the past academic year 2022/2023 and outlined future changes in the study programs and the Faculty building.

Renata Walczak, university professor, Vice-Rector of the Warsaw University of Technology for the Branch in Płock, in her speech, emphasized the importance of research conducted by scientists working at our Faculty, as well as the similarities and differences between the research profile of WIChiP and the Faculty of Construction, Mechanics and Petrochemistry of the Warsaw University of Technology in Płock. Addressing students newly admitted to the first year of studies, she emphasized their future role in shaping the development of modern civilization.

After the speech, Vice-Rector Renata Walczak, on behalf of the Rector of Warsaw University of Technology, presented the Awards of the Rector of the Warsaw University of Technology to WIChiP employees and Ph.D. students. The awards concerned scientific, organizational, and teaching achievements, including distinctions in the "Złota Kreda" plebiscite.

After the Rector's Awards presentation, the matriculation of newly admitted first-year students took place. After taking the academic oath, the students received from the Dean, prof. Ph.D. engineer Marek Henczka matriculation acts, thus joining the academic community of the Faculty.

The new students, who had already received their matriculation certificates, were welcomed by the President of WRS, Jakub Rejdych, and the Chairman of the IChiP "Venturi" Scientific Club, Grzegorz Bernacki. In their speeches, both Presidents emphasized the importance of student life and activities in student organizations in developing passions and establishing friendships.

Then prof. Ewa Dłuska gave the first lecture in the new academic year entitled: "Multifunctional emulsions - the answer of modern chemical engineering to the needs of civilization."

The last point of the ceremony was the academic anthem Gaudeaumus, performed by the Warsaw University of Technology Choir, whom we would like to thank for the beautiful artistic setting of our inauguration of the academic year.

We wish the Faculty of Chemical and Process Engineering academic community a fruitful and successful academic year 2023/2024.
The inauguration of the academic year was also an opportunity to sign a cooperation agreement with hubergroup Polska.
