Scientific interests:

I am a chemical engineer who works at the intersection of biomedical engineering, tissue engineering, and nanotechnology. I build interdisciplinary approaches to research and engineering problems concerning biomaterials synthesis and processing. I graduated in Chemical Engineering from the Faculty of Chemical and Process Engineering, Warsaw University of Technology (2011). In 2019, I defended my Ph.D. thesis in chemical engineering. Then, I took up the position of assistant professor in the same Faculty. I teach medical nanotechnology, implantable medical devices, bioprocess in the laboratory, and an introductory course in chemical engineering.

My research interest covers nanostructure formation processes – polymer nanofibers and ceramic nanoparticles – for application in tissue engineering/regenerative medicine. I have been working on a description of a process of air blowing of polymer fibers, called solution blow spinning, as an extension of my research project grant from the National Science Centre and my Ph.D. thesis. My more recent publications deal with chitosan-based nanofibrous materials as wound dressing, the design of specific nanofibrous materials for microfluidic systems, and various methods to produce hydroxyapatite nanoparticles with controlled morphology and surface chemistry. Now, I am working on incorporating my experience in nanofibers production and synthesis of hydroxyapatite nanoparticles into 3D printing composite materials and advanced hybrid scaffolds for tissue engineering. We develop hydroxyapatite production technologies in a research group I am a head of called the Laboratory of Nanohydroxyapatite (LabOFn). On the LabOFn website, you can find details about our research projects and an invitation to cooperate. Feel free to contact me directly.
