Professorial title for Ewa Dłuska, Ph. D., D.Sc.

With great joy and pride, we inform you that on May 29, 2023, by the nomination of the President of the Republic of Poland, Ewa Dłuska, Ph.D. D.Sc. was awarded the title of professor of engineering sciences (pol. nauki inżynieryjno-techniczne) in the discipline of chemical engineering.
We sincerely congratulate the Professor on this achievement and wish her further professional success.

EPIC 2023 concluded!

After a long break caused by the covid pandemic, the 8th European Process Intensification Conference (EPIC) was held between 31 May and 2 June 203 in Warsaw. The conference, endorsed by the European Federation of Chemical Engineering, gathered 125 participants from 24 countries, proving that process intensification was doing very well.

Radoslaw Krzosa won the third prize for the best poster at EPIC 2023

We would like to congratulate Radoslaw Krzosa, PhD student at Our Faculty, for winning the third prize in the competition for the best poster presentation at the 8th European Process Intensification Conference. More details about the awards can be found on the conference website.

11th European Young Engineers Conference at WIChiP

On April 17-19, 2023, the 11th edition of the European Young Engineers Conference (EYEC) was held at our Faculty. The conference's principal organiser is the Scientific Club of Chemical and Process Engineering "Venturi."

The topics discussed during the conference inspired the audience to search for new research topics, take risks and cross the boundaries of their discipline.

Chemical Engineering graduates earn the most in the US

The Federal Reserve Bank of New York published a list of majors from which one can expect the highest salaries immediately after graduation or several years after graduation. Chemical engineering takes the honorable first place! The salary at the beginning of the career is $75,000 a year, which after a few years rises to as much as $120,000 a year.

Green Technologies in Chemical Engineering – new M.Sc. program

We started a new M.Sc. program in chemical engineering in 2023. It is called “Green Technologies in Chemical Engineering.” The program is dedicated to second-cycle students in chemical engineering and close disciplines like biotechnology, chemical technology, physics, and materials science. Enrolment for February 2024 will commence in October 2023.

Aleksandra Pisarek - Best Poster Award and research visit to Germany

We are pleased to announce two significant successes for our PhD student mgr inż. Aleksandra Pisarek. She won the Best Poster Presentation award at the "Workshop on Aerogel Characterization and Modelling" (29-31.03.2023, Debrecen, Hungary) and won the Short Term Scientific Mission - Aerogel COST Action grant.

Chemical engineering at PW ranked first in Poland in QS by Subject

We are very pleased to announce that in the latest QS by Subject ranking in the discipline of chemical engineering at Warsaw University of Technology ranked first in Poland (places 201-250 worldwide). This indisputable distinction is the result of the continuous work of all employees, doctoral students and students who build the community of the chemical engineering discipline. Warsaw University of Technology as a whole is ranked first in Poland in Engineering & Technology and third in Natural Sciences.

CERN's challenge to student multidisciplinary teams

Prof. Tomasz Sosnowski, D.Sc. has been elected Chairman of the Section "Chemical Engineering as Applied to Medicine", established within the European Federation of Chemical Engineering (EFCE).
The inaugural meeting of the Section was held on 5.12.2022 in Paris during the Scientific Seminar of the 4th European Forum on New Technologies organized by the Federation.

Warsaw University of Technology, female researchers and WIChiP student are winners of prizes at 3W Congress

We are very proud to announce that Warsaw University of Technology has become a gold winner of the 3W World Leader 3W Competition in the SCIENCE category. The award was given for the research conducted at our Faculty by Marta Mazurkiewicz-Pawlicka, Ph.D., and Zuzanna Bojarska, M.Sc., on cost reduction in green hydrogen production. What's more, Jakub Zabrzycki, Eng., from our Department was awarded second place in the competition for the best engineering paper in the 3W topic.

LIDER grant for Kamil Czelej

We would like to inform you that the results of the LIDER XIII competition organized by the National Research and Development Center are now known. Among the five projects awarded for implementation at the Warsaw University of Technology, one will be implemented at our Department. Kamil Czelej, Ph.D. Eng., will head the project "Novel technology of highly efficient synthesis gas production by dry photoreforming of methane in a flow system". Funding in the amount of PLN 1,485,612.50 has been awarded.

Jakub Gac, Ph.D. D.Sc., awarded the Medal of the National Education Commission

At a ceremonial meeting of the Senate on November 15, 2022, the feast day of the Warsaw University of Technology, the Medal of the Commission of National Education was awarded to an academic teacher and researcher from our Department, Jakub Gac, PhD, professor at the university. The medal was presented to him by the Rector of Warsaw University of Technology, Prof. Krzysztof Zaremba. 8th European Process Intensification Conference - Call for Papers -

The 8th European Process Intensification Conference (EPIC) will be held in Warsaw from May 31 to June 2, 2023. The conference will provide an excellent opportunity to learn about the latest trends in process intensification in thought and research. Submissions for abstracts of presentations will be accepted until January 15, 2023. More information can be found on the EPIC website and in the conference call below.

Dr inż. Bogumiła Wrzesińska - winner of ENERGYEDULAB grant

We are proud to announce that dr inż. Bogumiła Wrzesinska, assistant professor at Our Faculty, has been the winner of the ENERGYEDULAB competition organized within the framework of the Research University Initiative for Excellence program.

Using the awarded funding, a new "Heat Pump" teaching station will be built under Doctor Wrzesińska's leadership. Funding in the amount of PLN 97,100 was awarded.
