Required qualifications:

• PhD degree in chemical engineering, chemical technology, materials science, environmental engineering, chemistry, nanotechnology, or a related discipline.
• Strong background in membrane technology, functional materials, photocatalysis, adsorption processes, or water/wastewater treatment.
• Experience in synthesis and characterization of advanced materials (e.g., MOFs, COFs, hybrid materials, nanomaterials).
• Practical experience in analytical techniques relevant to the project, such as SEM, TEM, XRD, FT-IR, UV-vis spectroscopy, HPLC, TOC, or related methods.
• Experience in membrane fabrication, modification, and performance testing (e.g., MF/UF membranes).
• Knowledge of photocatalytic processes and/or adsorption mechanisms in water treatment systems.
• Proven scientific output documented by publications in peer-reviewed journals.
• Experience in participation in research projects or international collaborations will be considered an advantage.
• Very good command of English (spoken and written).
• Ability to work independently as well as within an interdisciplinary research team.
• Strong organizational skills, responsibility, and attention to detail.

Moreover, the candidate must meet the NCN requirements for the post-doctoral position.
According to the National Science Centre (NCN) requirements, only individuals who have obtained a doctoral degree no earlier than seven years prior to the year of employment in the project may be admitted. This period may be extended by the duration of long-term (over 90 days) documented sickness benefits or rehabilitation benefits due to incapacity for work. Additionally, this period may be extended by the number of months spent on leave related to the care and upbringing of children granted under the terms of the Labor Code, and in the case of women, 18 months for each born or adopted child, if this method of indicating career breaks is more favorable.
According to the NCN requirements, only individuals who have obtained a doctoral degree from an entity other than the Warsaw University of Technology or completed at least a 10-month, continuous, and documented postdoctoral fellowship at an entity other than the project entity and in a country other than the country where the doctoral degree was obtained may be added.

Opis zadań:

The post-doctoral researcher will work within the research project entitled:

“Multifunctional Next-Generation Membranes with Integrated MOF–COF Hybrids for Simultaneous Filtration, Adsorption, and Photodegradation.”
The main responsibilities will include:
• synthesis and characterization of hybrid MOF–COF materials with adsorption and photocatalytic properties;
• development and modification of polymeric and ceramic micro- and ultrafiltration membranes incorporating MOF–COF hybrids;
• investigation of adsorption and photocatalytic degradation of pharmaceutical contaminants in water;
• evaluation of membrane performance (permeability, selectivity, fouling resistance, stability);
• studies on operational parameters affecting membrane efficiency, including pH, contaminant concentration, and light irradiation conditions;
• participation in experiments involving photocatalytic membrane reactors and adsorption–photocatalysis cycles;
• analysis of experimental data and preparation of scientific publications;
• preparation of project reports and presentation of results at international conferences;
• collaboration with project partners and supervision/support of students and PhD candidates involved in the project.

Warunki zatrudnienia:

• Full-time employment (100% FTE).
• Employment within a research project funded by the National Science Centre (NCN), OPUS programme.
• Planned employment period: up to 44 months (depending on the project schedule).
• The position will be located at Warsaw University of Technology, Poland.
• Salary will be paid according to the NCN regulations for post-doctoral researchers.
• The successful candidate will have access to modern research infrastructure and international collaboration within the project consortium.
